At CleanCo, we believe Queensland’s energy transformation is about people and the environment. Our Thriving Communities Strategy outlines how we engage with and contribute to the wellbeing of communities across the state, ensuring the shift to clean energy supports people, places and local growth.
Our vision is to be trusted to make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.
The strategy sets out how we will embed community wellbeing and social value across every part of our business, from project design and construction to operations and partnerships. Our approach begins with listening and collaboration. We know that locals are the experts in their own communities, so we take time to understand what matters most to them and co-design initiatives that deliver lasting impact.
To achieve this, the Thriving Communities Strategy focuses on four key enablers:
These enablers are supported by five interconnected categories of wellbeing, which provide a framework for measuring our impact on communities: identity and belonging, fairness and inclusion, local prosperity, infrastructure and services, and the local environment.
Implementation will occur in phases. In 2026, CleanCo will partner with community representatives to define what wellbeing means in each region and develop measures of success.
Through this strategy, we’re strengthening our role as a respectful and transparent partner in Queensland’s energy transition, helping build thriving, resilient communities for generations to come.
